We are a Community Massage clinic --modeled after the People's Organization of Community Acupuncture -- providing working class oriented massage and body therapy services on a sliding scale. Most sessions are 30 minutes, although more in-depth body therapy sessions can be scheduled for 45 or 60 minutes.
We specialize in four areas:
1) Neurodivergence- while our expertise is primarily working with Autism, ADHD, and PTSD (and conditions commonly associated with those such as Ehlers-Danlos syndromes, Anxiety, and Depression) we have worked with everything from Cerebral Palsy and Parkinsons to various personality disorders. Our approach is to understand that there are normal body-mind differences in sensory experience, time processing, emotional access, embodiment, motor control, etc and to build a massage session with techniques which work best for those differences.
2) Disability, chronic illness, and repetitive strain- massage and body therapies are especially good approaches for coping with chronic pain, injury and surgical scars, limited range of motion in joints and muscles, compensation patterns, fluctuating energy, and other physical conditions. We have experience working with paralysis, amputations and prosthetics, major accidents, extensive surgical interventions, congenital and acquired skeletal and joint issues, and are willing to work with you on others. We also have experience working with Lymes disease, chronic fatigue, multiple chemical sensitivities and MCAS, and other post-viral syndromes and autonomic dysfunctions. We ask that any legal cases be finished before beginning work with us.
3) Traumatic stress and emotional processing- we specialize in somatic psychology, looking at how our bodies express and hold emotions, memory, and safety.
4) Gender, Sexual, and Romantic minorities- we work with people across the spectrums at all stages (in the closet to flamingly out), but we specialize especially in working with pre- and post-surgical transgender care. We require parental supervision and attendance for all under 18 children.
