Are you a massage student or recent graduate looking for an internship? We offer 6-week paid internship/apprenticeships.
Internships are approximately 4 hours, once a week. For the first four weeks you shadow one of our staff therapists (usually Alyx) while interacting with real clients and receiving 1-on-1 training in advanced techniques. The last two weeks you work with clients with Alyx providing support and feedback. Clients get the opportunity to learn more about what we are doing as therapists (techniques and physiology) and a deeper insight into their own body and musculoskeletal and pain patterns.
Promising interns will be invited to join the staff. Staff benefits include training in massage business practices for social justice, trauma-informed massage practices for special populations, and the opportunity for loans/in-kind grants to open your own community-style massage clinic.
If interested, please send us an email with a brief statement on why massage is important. Students must be enrolled in at least a 500-hour program, have completed all science courses and basic/intro-level clinical/lab hours, and have a practitioner-level massage insurance policy (upgraded from student-level). A massage license/certification is not required. Students with backgrounds not well represented in the massage industry will be prioritized.
